Deviney and LeJeune Earn Consecutive NWAC Pitcher of the Week Honors
Pierce College Athletics is celebrating an impressive back-to-back achievement, as two Raider pitchers have earned NWAC Pitcher of the Week honors in consecutive weeks, highlighting the program’s dominance in the circle and on the mound.
Last week, freshman standout Audrey Deviney of the Raider softball team was named NWAC Softball Pitcher of the Week following a commanding performance against Shoreline. Deviney was nearly untouchable, tossing 5.0 innings while allowing just one hit and no runs. She struck out 11 batters and issued only one walk in the shutout effort, showcasing complete control and overpowering presence.
Deviney continues to rank among the NWAC’s top arms this season. She has totaled 79 strikeouts, placing her eighth in the conference, and holds a 4.82 ERA, which ranks ninth overall. Her ability to consistently generate swings and misses has made her a key force in the Raiders’ success this spring.
This week, the spotlight shifts to the baseball diamond, where sophomore left-hander Michael LeJeune earned NWAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for his dominant outing against Centralia. LeJeune delivered a masterclass performance, throwing 7.0 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out 10 batters. He walked only one and did not allow a run, finishing the game with a 0.00 ERA and an impressive 0.43 WHIP.
LeJeune has been exceptional all season long. In 18.1 innings pitched, he owns a 2-0 record with a stellar 0.96 ERA and a 0.70 WHIP. He has struck out 25 batters while surrendering just two runs and nine hits, establishing himself as one of the most efficient and effective pitchers in the NWAC.
