Raiders Open West Region Play with Dominant Win Over Grays Harbor
The Pierce Raiders men’s basketball team opened West Region play in dominant fashion on Wednesday night, rolling past the visiting Grays Harbor Chokers, 101-68, at home.
Pierce set the tone early and never looked back, using balanced scoring, strong rebounding, and unselfish ball movement to secure the convincing victory. The win moves the Raiders to 1-0 in West Region play and 2-11 overall following a challenging preseason schedule.
Ishe Kanhukamwe led all scorers with an outstanding performance, pouring in 31 points while adding 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. His efficiency and pace on the offensive end fueled the Raiders throughout the night.
Mande Wanlemvo delivered a dominant all-around effort in the paint, finishing with 21 points and 19 rebounds, while also recording 2 steals and 1 block. His presence on the glass was a major factor in Pierce’s control of the game.
Jonah Bell added 17 points, along with 1 rebound and 1 steal, while Isaac Norris orchestrated the offense with 13 points, 9 assists, and 4 rebounds. Josiah Gopaul chipped in a strong effort as well, posting 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
The Raiders’ depth and defensive pressure helped create separation as the game progressed, allowing Pierce to pull away and secure the conference win.
Pierce will look to build on the momentum as West Region play continues, aiming to turn a tough non-conference slate into a strong conference run.
