Raiders Fall to Gators in Saturday Contest

The Pierce Raiders men’s basketball team fell to the Green River Gators, 90-77, in West Region action, dropping the Raiders’ conference record to 2-2.

Pierce trailed by nine at the half but was unable to close the gap as Green River continued to build its lead in the second half, pulling away for the 14-point victory.

Dylan Jay paced the Raiders offensively with 17 points, adding two rebounds and one assist. Mande Wanlemvo followed with a strong all-around performance, finishing with 15 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks. Isaac Norris contributed 13 points while dishing out seven assists, grabbing four rebounds, and recording a steal. Cooper Hartley rounded out the Raiders in double figures with 10 points and added a block on the defensive end.

Despite the loss, Pierce showed flashes of balance on offense and activity on the glass, but the Gators’ ability to extend their lead proved to be the difference.
