Raiders Unable to Close Gap at South Puget Sound
The Pierce College Raiders faced a tough challenge on Wednesday night, traveling to take on South Puget Sound. Despite strong individual performances, Pierce came up short in a 79-60 contest.
South Puget Sound built momentum early, taking a 36-24 lead into halftime. The Raiders battled in the second half, improving their offensive output with 36 points over the final 20 minutes, but SPS kept pace with 43 second-half points to secure the win.
Isaac Norris led Pierce with 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including two three-pointers. He added six rebounds and two assists while playing all 40 minutes. Cooper Hartley provided a spark off the bench, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and 4-for-4 from beyond the arc to finish with 12 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes.
Mande Wanlemvo contributed nine points, five rebounds, and a team-high five steals, while Jonah Bell added eight points. The Raiders finished the night shooting 41.8% from the field (23-of-55) and 33.3% from three-point range (7-of-21). Pierce collected 26 total rebounds and forced eight steals defensively.
