Raiders Show Power at the Plate in Tough Doubleheader Loss to Everett

The Pierce College Raiders softball team dropped both games of their doubleheader against the Everett Trojans, falling 12-5 in game one and 17-4 in game two. Despite the losses, the Raiders showed sparks of offensive power throughout the day, highlighted by a trio of home runs.

In game one, newcomer Noelani Souza continued to make an impact, scoring once and notching two doubles. Nola Reily stayed consistent at the plate with two hits—including a double—two runs scored, and a walk. Samantha Tungsvik added a double and an RBI. In the fifth inning, Amelia Lopez crushed her fifth home run of the season, a two-run blast that cut into the Trojan lead. Karen Cervantes-Macias pitched the full six innings, striking out six.

Game two saw the Raiders flex their long-ball strength again. Nola Reily opened the scoring with a solo shot in the third inning. In the fifth, Karen Cervantes-Macias launched a two-run homer, immediately followed by Amelia Lopez's second home run of the day and sixth of the season. Samantha Tungsvik threw the complete game, recording five strikeouts.
