Bulldogs Dominate Raiders in Conference Match Up

Pierce softball dropped both games of its road doubleheader against Bellevue College on Friday, with Bellevue taking each contest by an 11-3 score. The Raiders collected 13 hits across the two games and saw several players contribute offensively throughout the afternoon.

Game 1 - Bellevue 11, Pierce 3

Pierce struck first in the second inning when Kayla Jarreau delivered a two-run single to score Karen Cervantes-Macias and Jadyn Johnson, giving the Raiders an early 2-0 lead.

Bellevue responded with a big middle stretch offensively to take control of the game, but Pierce added another run in the fifth inning. Karen Cervantes-Macias continued her strong day at the plate with an RBI double that brought home Kaylie Marshall.

Cervantes-Macias led the Raiders offensively, finishing 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI, and a walk. Jarreau added two RBIs, while Amelia Lopez, Shelby Mason, Hallie Beers, Kaylie Marshall, and Jadyn Johnson each recorded hits.

Aspyn Evanson started in the circle for Pierce, pitching four innings and striking out three before Cervantes-Macias came on in relief.

Game 2 - Bellevue 11, Pierce 3

Bellevue used an early offensive surge to build a lead in game two before Pierce answered with a three-run fourth inning.

Kaylie Marshall and Audrey Deviney both scored during the inning after Karen Cervantes-Macias lined a two-run single to center field. Grace Field followed with an RBI single to bring home Jadyn Johnson and cut into the deficit.

Cervantes-Macias once again paced the Raider offense, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a double. Grace Field added a hit and an RBI, while Deviney and Marshall each scored runs for Pierce.

Karen Cervantes-Macias pitched all four innings for the Raiders in the second game.
