Raider Softball Caps Season with Dominant Sweep at Highline
Pierce softball closed out its season in emphatic fashion on the road, sweeping Highline in an afternoon doubleheader. Pierce rolled to wins of 17-2 and 11-1, with both games ending in five innings due to run rule.
Game 1: Pierce 17, Highline 2 (5 innings)
Pierce wasted no time asserting control in the opener, piling up 20 hits and 17 runs in a relentless offensive attack.
A balanced lineup produced throughout, led by Jadyn Johnson (3-for-4, 4 RBI) and Amelia Lopez (3-for-4, 3 RBI), while Karen Cervantes-Macias also added three hits and three RBI. Hallie Beers contributed a 3-for-5 performance with two RBI, and Grace Field drove in three runs, including a home run that highlighted a big extra-base day for the Raiders.
Extra-base hits came in waves, with doubles from Audrey Deviney, Johnson, Lopez, and Beers, plus triples from Lopez, Cervantes-Macias, and Kaylie Marshall.
In the circle, Audrey Deviney set the tone, earning the win after going 5.0 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5.
Game 2: Pierce 11, Highline 1 (5 innings)
The second game followed a similar script, with Pierce again overwhelming Highline early and often to complete the sweep.
Kaylie Marshall led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and an RBI, while Hallie Beers added a 2-for-4 performance with 2 RBI. Amelia Lopez contributed a run and steady production at the top of the order, and Karen Cervantes-Macias drove in two runs on her way to another strong outing. Kayla Jarreau went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, providing a key spark in the middle of the lineup.
