Raiders Sweep Yakima Valley in Road Doubleheader
Game 1: Pierce 10, Yakima Valley 7
Pierce showed resilience in the opener, overcoming an early deficit with a powerful offensive surge to secure the 10-7 win.
Yakima Valley jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and added another run in the second to go up 6-0. The Raiders responded in a big way in the third inning, plating six runs to even the score and shift the momentum.
The rally was fueled by a huge performance from Audrey Deviney. Deviney went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and a home run, driving in six RBIs to power the comeback effort. Hallie Beers added a pair of RBIs, while Brooklyn Crass and Madelyn Stanaway also contributed runs batted in.
Amelia Lopez recorded a double and scored twice, and Alosina Fuiava added two runs to the scoreboard. Pierce finished with nine hits and capitalized on three Yakima Valley errors.
In the circle, Aspyn Evanson started the game before Deviney entered in relief. Deviney settled things down over six strong innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out six to earn the win.
Pierce added insurance runs late, including a three-run seventh inning, to secure the 10-7 victory.
Game 2: Pierce 7, Yakima Valley 5
The Raiders carried their momentum into game two, putting together a 14-hit performance to complete the sweep with a 7-5 win.
Brooklyn Crass led the offense with a 3-for-5 performance, including a double and two runs scored. Hallie Beers matched her with three hits of her own, including two doubles and two RBIs. Amelia Lopez added two hits and an RBI, while Jadyn Johnson chipped in two hits and drove in a run.
Karen Cervantes-Macias contributed at the plate with a hit and an RBI and also went the distance in the circle. She threw all seven innings, allowing five runs on 10 hits while striking out four to earn the win.
Pierce was aggressive on the bases, recording stolen bases from Beers, Lopez, Johnson, Kayla Jarreau, and Deviney. The Raiders’ pressure on the basepaths helped generate scoring opportunities throughout the game.
With timely hitting, strong pitching, and aggressive baserunning, Pierce secured the 7-5 win and completed the road sweep over Yakima Valley.
