Raiders Close Season on Sophomore Night Against Centralia

The Pierce Raiders wrapped up their season Wednesday evening at home, honoring sophomores Adhau Chol and Teagan Ofiana-Kline prior to tipoff before falling to Centralia 77-59.

Pierce came out aggressive in the opening quarter, keeping pace with the Trailblazers in a tightly contested start. The Raiders scored 19 points in the first, trailing just 21-19 after one. They continued to apply pressure offensively in the second quarter, adding 20 points while battling inside and in transition. Centralia answered with 24 points in the period to take a 45-39 lead into halftime.

The Raiders shot 35.7% from the field (20-56) and were strong on the glass, finishing with 51 total rebounds, including 15 offensive boards that created second-chance opportunities. However, 28 turnovers limited Pierce’s ability to sustain momentum.

Malea Berridge led Pierce with 18 points on 7-of-18 shooting, knocking down two three-pointers. Martha Jessop added 14 points on an efficient 6-of-8 effort from the floor while grabbing seven rebounds. Chol recorded a double-double in her final game, tallying 10 points, a team-high 11 rebounds, and three blocks. Tia Schanbeck contributed eight rebounds and four points, while Ofiana-Kline added four assists, three steals, and two points in her final appearance as a Raider.

Centralia began to create separation in the third quarter, outscoring Pierce 15-9 to extend the lead to 60-48 heading into the fourth. The Trailblazers closed with a 17-11 advantage in the final frame to secure the 77-59 victory.

Although the outcome did not fall in their favor, the evening was a meaningful one as Pierce celebrated the dedication and impact of Chol and Ofiana-Kline. Sophomore Night marked the conclusion of the season and the final time the pair suited up at home in Raider uniforms.
