Raiders Battle at Titan Classic

The Pierce College Raiders faced a challenging weekend at the Titan Classic, finishing the tournament with an 0-3 record.

In their opening game, the Raiders fell to Southwest Oregon, 89-47. Adhau Chol led the team with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks, while Malea Berridge added 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal. Jane Wanjiku chipped in 5 points with 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. Tia Schanbeck contributed 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals. Brooklynn Chhang and Martha Jessop each added 2 points, with Chhang pulling down 5 rebounds and Jessop grabbing 5 boards.

The Raiders battled hard in their second game but were edged out by the Linn-Benton Roadrunners. Berridge led the effort with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and an assist. Chol added 17 points, 5 rebounds, a steal, and an assist, while Chhang had 12 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal, and a block. Jessop recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds, Wanjiku had 6 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and a block, and Schanbeck added 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block. Maesha Muaau also contributed 2 points, 2 rebounds, and a block.

In the tournament finale, the Raiders faced the host team, Lane College, and were defeated 89-38. Berridge led with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and an assist. Wanjiku added 8 points and 4 rebounds, Muaau 7 points and 5 rebounds, and Chol 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.

Despite the tough results, the Raiders showed consistent effort throughout the tournament. Pierce will look to regroup and continue building momentum as they travel to Skagit Valley on November 25th to face the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m.
