The Pierce College women’s soccer team earned a hard-fought 2-2 tie against the Highline Thunderbirds on Wednesday.
The Raiders struck first in the 10th minute when Grace Atkinson found the back of the net off an assist from Olivia Jahn. Just eight minutes later, Pierce extended the lead as Kameryn Norton scored on a header from a well-placed corner kick by Ruby Pearson.
Highline responded quickly, cutting the lead with a goal in the 22nd minute and leveling the match at the 30-minute mark. Neither side was able to break the deadlock in the second half despite several opportunities.
Goalkeeper Rylee Kline had another standout performance, recording 11 saves to help preserve the draw.
